Classical and Beyond

Creative Endeavors offers experiential learning practices in order for students to become fluent in the language of music. Fluency includes reading, writing, and speaking the language of music in order to properly communicate the intent of the composer. The RCM method offers a vast library of piano literature for the student to experience all musical styles to bring compositions to life.

Students are offered multiple performance opportunities throughout the year in order to hone their performance skills, and share their love of music with local audiences, as well as audiences in other venues.

RCM Certification Program

The RCM Certificate Program offers students leveled curriculum through music from all eras, theory, technique, and musicianship. Beginning at the preparatory level, students can begin this program after completing their primer from most commonly used piano methods. They begin to learn the fundamentals of piano through mastery of basic technical skills, ear training and sight-reading skills, music theory, and a wonderful assortment of musical choices. Students will master their skills at each level and have the opportunity to test with a certified examiner from the Royal Conservatory of Music. Students excelling in their exams are selected to perform at Regional and National concerts. To learn more, click the link to the Royal Conservatory of Music’s website.

When studying at Creative Endeavors Piano Studio, students train with an RCM Certified Specialist.

Student Black Belt Practice Challenge

This year’s practice challenge will focus on mastery. Aligning the challenge with the ideals put forth in martial arts training, students will be given a set of tasks called a Mastery Mission. When completed, the student is awarded a color keychain they can clip to their music bags or backpacks. Complete 10 Mastery Missions to earn each color “belt” and finally your black “belt” keychain.

This challenge is designed to help students better prepare for performances, competitions, exams, and festivals throughout the year.

White “belt” keychains are given when students accept the challenge and receive their first Mastery Mission.
